Q-Skills

Quality and Lean E-Learning on PC or Mobile

Engage all Employees in Continuous Improvement

Q-Skills3D is a unique, interactive self paced E-Learning product. Q-Skills3D teaches Continuous Improvement and Lean by allowing employees to have FUN as they learn. Q-Skills3D is the ultimate in gamification. A combination of interactive games, puzzles, simulations, and exercises create an entertaining and motivating environment.

Q-Skills3D may be used in Continuous Improvement, Quality and Lean programs.

Steer the car in the exercise, by moving the mouse. Left button to accelerate. Employees work at their own pace. This provides efficient learning, regardless of student's skills. By contrast, the classroom can never accommodate all learning speeds.

Q-Skills3D has over 50 interactive modules. Employees learn over about 8 hours, how to use and apply Quality and Lean tools and techniques ranging from 5S; 8 Waste; Poka Yoke; Value Stream and Process Mapping; Brainstorming; Cause and Effect; right through to the correct use and interpretation of histograms and control charts.

Easy Quality Administration

Q-Skills3D makes things easy for the administrator too, with comprehensive reporting of employee progress, whether on PC or mobile. Employees can print certificates, when they successfully pass the course.

Time and Cost Savings

Q-Skills3D typically halves off-the-job time. It enables "slow" time be more effectively utilised. Large numbers of employees can be trained rapidly and consistently. Q-Skills3D simplifies training of new hire employees. Q-Skills3D is a fraction of the cost of classroom training, and is far more enjoyable.

The key to successful learning is interactivity. Active learning, where employees are 'doing', is far more effective than passive learning with just reading, watching or listening.

The video screen capture on the right shows a game which teaches the use of histograms and control charts. It is based on a true story from history. It teaches how control charts are used to ensure quality and predictable processes. Can you work out the process improvement that dramatically improved the quality of shooting in rolling seas? Games make the data more meaningful to the student.

Lean

Q-Skills3D teaches the principles of Lean.  The interactive Lean Simulation, allows employees to manipulate: WIP, processing speeds, and the magnitude of variation in processing speeds.
An employee can see the impact on processing idle times, intermediate inventory, cycle time, TAKT time, and throughput. A demonstration like this is almost impossible in the classroom.

Fundamentals of Quality

Q-Skills3D is based on the work of the great men of QUALITY: Professor Deming, Professor Lewis, Professor Ishikawa, Dr Shewhart and Dr Wheeler

Q-Skills3D games, examples and exercises are generic and designed to be able to be used by all employees, in any industry, in any department.

The picture below is the mastery test, using a game of snakes ladders. This game was developed in India 500 years ago as training tool.  The game with lots of surprises, makes the test less intimidating.

Mobile device, network, internet and stand alone PC operation are supported.

Dr. Jane Mahoney (Florida Power & Light): "May I thank you for the wonderful con tribution that you've made to quality training here. We're all enjoying the mythical quality of the software content, and the humor that's embedded in the most unexpected places. It's clear that you've put much of yourselves into this software design, giving it much depth and texture. "
